Areas to explore - a few suggestions...

Within easy reach

The immediate area shouts tranquility. Walking, canoeing and cycling during the day; the pool, a barbecue and a panoramic view when you can't be bothered.

There's a beautiful picnic area at the bottom of the road that runs past the gîte, nestled alongside the Viaur river - a typical Tarn river cutting through a steep-sided wood-covered gorge.

Only 30 minutes away is Najac, one of France's 'plus beaux villages' - got to be seen!

With a short journey of between 30-45 mins you reach Albi, the capital of the Tarn. Its medieval brick built cathedral is a Unesco World Heritage site and alongside it is the vast Bishop's Palace. And just around the corner is the Toulouse Lautrec museum.

For those who enjoy a more active holiday, we are surrounded by a number of walking routes which vary in distance and level of ability, cycling (not for the faint-hearted) and a little further afield, kayaking for the family at Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, golfing in Albi, sailing, tennis, the list goes on...
